Eastside Chiropractic Center Slogan LogoOur slogan, “Bending Over Backwards to Straighten You Out!” is a mantra that we truly live by. We do bend over backwards to ensure your comfort, safety and highest quality treatment.

Whether your spinal injury is sports related, or due to an auto or work accident, or just due to a particular condition that you have been suffering from, we will get to the bottom of it.

Chiropractic care requires hands-on adjustment, as well as other methods of spinal manipulation depending on the needs of each individual. Chiropractic treatments can be used to treat a variety of health issues, such as bones, joints, ligaments, nerves and muscles.

‘Some people are surprised to learn that chiropractic treatments can be used to effectively eliminate a lot of other health issues, such as headaches, leg pain, neck or shoulder pain and other points that stem from the vertebra in the back.

Treatment Begins with a Consultation

Dr. Amy Westrick with patientIf you have any physical impairments or limitations, tell the chiropractor, especially if you find certain movements to be painful. A physical exam and X-Ray is probable.

The chiropractor will evaluate your spinal mobility, as well as checking your vitals such as cholesterol and blood pressure. People don’t realize that these can be factors in having back or neck pain.

After the consultation, you will receive an appointment and be told recommendations for the best course of action to get your health back.

Treatments will begin with a spinal manipulation, whereupon you will be asked to lay face-down on the chiropractic table.

Hand manipulations involve moving the joints in your spine to its extended range of comfort, followed by a gentle thrust.

This is what is known as a spinal adjustment and it is done to realign your spine. Over time, these hand manipulations will make your back straighter.

You may or may not experience a little achiness or stiffness for a day or two following a spinal manipulation. Everyone is different, and depending on how mild or severe your spinal problems are will depend on whether you experience any soreness.

In some patients, there is a warm-up before the spinal manipulation. This is called massage treatment, which works on the muscles and soft tissues to make them more pliant.

Very rarely can the chiropractic treatment be accomplished within only one session. Instead, a series of treatments will be needed to resurrect the issues.

Most chiropractors schedule treatments over several weeks, depending on your circumstances. Each session can take anywhere between fifteen minutes to an hour, depending on whether other services occur during the visit.

You will be told these things in advance so that you will always be able to plan your schedule accordingly.

There are some people who cannot go through chiropractic care, such as patients with bone fractures, tumors, joint or bone infections, or severe arthritis. We always practice chiropractic care safely and put our patient’s needs and comfort first.
